OKX Ventures, a well-known cryptocurrency exchange, has recently launched a new investment round for Avail, a unification layer that aims to solve rollup fragmentation. The company announced this exciting development on its official X account.

We are delighted to announce that we have initiated a series A investment round for Avail, a groundbreaking unification layer designed to address rollup fragmentation on a large scale. AvailProject

In addition to this announcement, OKX Ventures also released a blog post on Medium to provide more details about this venture. According to the company, Avail aims to unify and scale rollups and the modular blockchain network. It achieves this by utilizing a combination of shared security, proof aggregation, and data availability. Essentially, Avail acts as a resilient layer for Web3 infrastructure.

Avail’s design allows modular layers to scale and be interpreted in a trustless manner. The key to Avail’s potential lies in its innovative approach to unification, which consists of three main components. The first component is Avail DA, a state-of-the-art modular layer that focuses on data availability. It incorporates technology planned by Ethereum in its danksharding roadmap. This technology includes data availability sampling with validity proofs and provides ample blobspace for rollups to scale.

The second component is Avail Nexus, which serves as a custom zk coordination rollup. It acts as a verification hub, bringing together rollups from various sectors in the Web3 ecosystem through proof aggregation. Avail Nexus also leverages Avail DA to enhance its functionality.

The third component, Avail Fusion, offers a multi-asset staking mechanism. It allows assets from established ecosystems like Ethereum and Bitcoin, as well as exclusive rollups, to contribute to the consensus of Avail. This component provides a resilient shared security feature that aims to strengthen the unification layer.

Dora Yue, the co-founder of OKX Ventures, emphasized the development’s focus on delivering an unparalleled user experience. With the integration of these components, Avail is able to synthesize modularity, shared security, and chain abstraction. This creates a unified experience that paves the way for a modular epoch in the Web3 realm. Yue expressed excitement about the investment in Avail and believes that the three-part product will offer a unique and exceptional user experience.
