zkSync, a layer 2 scaling solution that enhances the Ethereum blockchain through zk-rollup technology, has announced a significant update. According to the platform, it has successfully deployed the v24 version on its mainnet to improve the experience for users and developers with exclusive features. The platform took to its official X account to unveil this latest development.
The mainnet deployment of v24 is now complete!
zkSync has enabled deposits and withdrawals through the zkSync local bridge after a temporary suspension of up to 24 hours. During this period, the platform allowed the use of 3rd-party bridges. Prior to this, on the 5th of this month, the company announced the completion of the review for the upgrade, paving the way for its deployment.
The new upgrade introduces various improvements aimed at enhancing performance and user experience. Notably, it includes enhancements in smart contract operations and security protocols, ensuring a reliable and robust infrastructure to support decentralized applications based on zkSync. This unique update marks the transition of zkSync v24 from the testing phase to production.
The upgrade focuses on improving the experiences of both developers and users. Last month, the platform experienced several delays in deploying the upgrade. Additionally, it called on hardware teams to participate in the prover network of zkSync Era, emphasizing the important role they will play in the operation of zk rollups.
zkSync has emphasized that this operation will be fully censorship-resistant. Furthermore, the company has invited users to explore the exclusive ZK consumer dashboard, where they can view their current allocation amount and participate in ZkEVM Quests.
