Space and Time (SxT) has recently unveiled the groundbreaking Proof of SQL v1. This pioneering system is the world’s first zero-knowledge (ZK) prover that can process transactions in under a second. This remarkable speed is a significant advancement compared to current methods, which typically take around 30 minutes to generate proofs. The software is now available as an open-source product for the entire community to utilize.

Proof of SQL focuses primarily on ensuring the integrity of data by validating SQL queries against the original, unaltered data. This allows developers to carry out computations on both on-chain and off-chain data much more quickly than what is currently available in the market. It has quickly established itself as the fastest ZK proof system of its kind.

Space and Time is a provable computing layer that is specially designed for AI and blockchain applications. The company has secured a $20 million investment from Microsoft and is dedicated to enhancing the safety, auditability, and verifiability of AI models. With the assistance of large language models (LLMs), developers can swiftly create dashboards and conduct cross-chain analytics with ease.

The Proof of SQL protocol, developed by SxT, guarantees the accuracy of SQL database queries by comparing them to a secure data source. This empowers developers to execute computations on various datasets in a trustless manner, with the results automatically validating themselves back to smart contracts during transactions. This advancement opens up new possibilities for data-driven smart contracts within advanced DeFi protocols.

Jay White, the Co-Founder and Head of Research at SxT, emphasized the significance of achieving sub-second ZK proofs. According to White, this development will enable smart contracts and AI agents to seamlessly access both on-chain state and external data. The cryptography team at SxT recently completed testing, demonstrating that the protocol can process analytic queries on tables with over 100,000 rows using just a single GPU in less than a second.

Proof of SQL was initially released as an alpha version to a select group of SxT clients. It is already safeguarding some of the most prominent Web3 applications, financial institutions, and businesses. The protocol can be integrated into any type of SQL database, whether centralized or decentralized, further expanding its reach and impact.
