Sei Network, a blockchain platform within the Cosmos ecosystem that specializes in infrastructure trading for decentralized exchanges (DEXs), has recently announced a new partnership. The company has joined forces with Gitcoin, an Ethereum-based token that facilitates community governance, to launch the Sei Creator Fund. The initial round of this project commenced on June 4th. The collaboration was officially announced on Gitcoin’s account on X.

Sei Network Launches Sei Creator Fund on Gitcoin Grants Stack
Additionally, Gitcoin shared a blog post on its official website, revealing the partnership and the introduction of the Sei Creator Fund. On June 4th, the two entities initiated a matching pool of up to $250,000. The platform has opened the matching pool to both new and experienced contributors.
The Sei Creator Fund is part of a $10 million initiative dedicated to accelerating the development and growth of Sei. It leverages the potential of the Gitcoin Grants Stack. The first round of funding, which utilizes Quadratic Funding, provides a matching pool of $250,000 to support projects across various exciting themes.
These themes include NFT tools and marketplaces, decentralized content platforms, fan engagement and social platforms, Web3 infrastructure and creative tools, collectives and creator DAOs, as well as Web3 education. Sei aims to support passionate projects that contribute to the Sei ecosystem.
The Platform Seeks Projects with Technical Feasibility and Alignment with Its Values
Furthermore, the platform is seeking projects that demonstrate community engagement and impact. They also require a well-defined roadmap and technical feasibility. Projects must align with Sei’s core values and have adequate budget and funding.
Once the applications are submitted, they will undergo an evaluation process. A committee consisting of representatives from Sei and Gitcoin will review the proposals based on eligibility criteria and alignment with the funding objectives. The committee aims to onboard more projects to support various initiatives within the Sei Creator Economy.
