Sei Network, a blockchain platform on Cosmos that specializes in infrastructure trading for decentralized exchanges (DEXs), has announced a new partnership with Gitcoin, a token on the Ethereum network that enables community governance. The collaboration marks the beginning of the initial round of Sei Network’s Creator Fund project, which will be launched on June 4th. Gitcoin and Sei Network have joined forces to introduce the Sei Creator Fund, a project aimed at supporting developments within the Sei ecosystem. They will allocate a matching pool of up to $250,000 on June 4th to fund new and experienced contributors. The Sei Creator Fund is part of a $10 million initiative to accelerate the growth and development of Sei, leveraging the capabilities of Gitcoin Grants Stack. The first round of funding will use Quadratic Funding and will back projects in various exciting themes, including NFT tools and marketplaces, decentralized content providers, fan engagement platforms, and Web3 infrastructure and creative tools.
Projects applying for funding from the Sei Creator Fund need to demonstrate technical feasibility and alignment with Sei’s values. They are also required to showcase community engagement and impact, as well as present a well-defined roadmap and budget. The submitted applications will undergo an evaluation process, with a committee consisting of representatives from Sei Network and Gitcoin reviewing the proposals. The committee will assess the projects based on eligibility criteria and alignment with the funding objectives. The aim is to onboard more projects that contribute to the Sei Creator Economy.
