LightLink, a Layer 2 blockchain solution based on Ethereum that offers real-time gas-free transactions for dApps and enterprises, has announced the integration of its Hummingbird client with Celestia Mainnet. This collaboration aims to improve scalability and reduce transaction costs, marking a significant milestone in LightLink’s journey towards achieving 10,000 TPS.

By joining forces with Celestia, LightLink is able to lower storage costs and enhance security, creating a more cost-effective and secure blockchain environment. The integration of Celestia’s distributed ledger infrastructure allows LightLink to efficiently manage a large amount of data on the celestial test net while keeping storage fees at a minimum.

Roy Hui, the CEO and co-founder of LightLink, emphasized the strategic importance of partnering with Celestia. He highlighted that this collaboration will enable LightLink to reduce costs compared to Ethereum, ultimately leading to lower transaction fees for users. The ultimate goal is to create a faster, more accessible, and reliable blockchain platform that addresses the challenges posed by high gas fees on Layer 1 protocols.

In a separate development, LightLink secured $11.5 million in funding for its gasless architecture research. The Hummingbird client, integral to ensuring data availability and protection against attacks, plays a crucial role in verifying state execution, transaction inclusion, and data availability. The upcoming Blobstream tool will further enhance data availability for Layer 2 networks, enabling LightLink to develop interactive applications and games for community validators, strengthening its ecosystem.

As part of its growth strategy, LightLink recently introduced its token, $LL, and successfully concluded a seed funding round to support its mission of researching gasless architecture for blockchains. With these funds, LightLink aims to continue providing efficient solutions that are accessible to all users.
