LightLink, a Layer 2 blockchain solution on Ethereum that offers real-time gas-free transactions to dApps and enterprises, has announced the integration of its Hummingbird client with Celestia Mainnet. This collaboration aims to boost scalability and reduce transaction costs, marking a significant milestone in LightLink’s journey towards achieving 10,000 TPS.
By partnering with Celestia, LightLink is able to enjoy several benefits, such as lowering storage and security expenses. Through this integration, LightLink aims to create a more cost-effective and secure blockchain environment by leveraging Celestia’s distributed ledger infrastructure.
Currently, LightLink is generating a large amount of data on the celestial test net, resulting in significant storage requirements. However, thanks to its efficient fee structure and Celestia’s cost-minimizing algorithm, LightLink is able to keep storage fees low.
Roy Hui, LightLink’s co-founder and CEO, emphasized the strategic significance of collaborating with Celestia. He highlighted how this partnership will help reduce costs compared to Ethereum, enabling LightLink to pass on these savings to users in the form of reduced transaction fees. The ultimate goal is to create a faster, more accessible, and reliable blockchain platform that addresses the issue of high gas fees on Layer 1 protocols.
In addition to the integration with Celestia, LightLink has secured $11.5 million in funding for its gasless architecture research. Hummingbird, LightLink’s standalone client, plays a crucial role in ensuring data availability and protecting it from attacks. It verifies state execution, transaction inclusion, and data availability while ensuring that all block data is transparent and verifiable by anyone.
Following the successful implementation of Hummingbird, LightLink will develop Blobstream, a modular data flow tool that will enhance data availability for Layer 2 networks. This will empower LightLink to create interactive applications and games for community validators, further strengthening its ecosystem.
Moreover, LightLink recently launched its token, $LL, and successfully completed its seed funding round. The funds raised will be used to advance research on gasless architecture for blockchains and continue providing efficient solutions that are accessible to all.
