LightLink, a Layer 2 blockchain solution on the Ethereum network offering gas-free transactions in real-time for dApps and enterprises, has announced the integration of its Hummingbird client with the Celestia Mainnet. This collaboration aims to improve scalability and reduce transaction costs, marking a significant milestone in LightLink’s journey towards achieving 10,000 transactions per second (TPS).

The partnership with Celestia not only enhances scalability but also reduces storage costs for LightLink. By leveraging Celestia’s distributed ledger infrastructure, LightLink can create a more cost-effective and secure blockchain environment. The integration results in lower storage costs and improved security measures, paving the way for a more efficient ecosystem.

LightLink is currently generating a substantial amount of data on the celestial test net, requiring significant storage capacity. However, thanks to its efficient fee structure and Celestia’s cost-efficient algorithm, LightLink benefits from relatively low storage fees. This strategic collaboration with Celestia is crucial for LightLink’s cost-saving initiatives compared to Ethereum, enabling the platform to offer reduced transaction fees to its users. The ultimate goal is to provide a faster, more accessible, and reliable blockchain platform that addresses the challenges posed by high gas fees on Layer 1 protocols.

LightLink has secured $11.5 million in funding for its gasless architecture research, with Hummingbird serving as a key component in ensuring data availability and protection against potential threats. By verifying state execution, transaction inclusion, and data availability, Hummingbird guarantees the integrity of each block’s data, making it accessible for verification by all parties.

In the next phase, LightLink plans to introduce Blobstream, a modular data flow tool designed to enhance data availability for Layer 2 networks. This tool will enable LightLink to develop interactive applications and games for community validators, further strengthening its ecosystem.

In addition to these advancements, LightLink has launched its native token, $LL, and successfully completed its seed funding round, raising $11.5 million. These funds will be utilized to continue research on gasless architecture for blockchains and further enhance accessibility to efficient solutions for all users.
