Automata Network, a renowned online platform that provides private web services for Web3-based decentralized applications, recently made a significant announcement. The company revealed that it has partnered with Puffer Finance, a tool that simplifies the process of liquid restaking, to collaborate on the development of Secure Signer. The news was shared on social media platform X.

Automata Network expressed its enthusiasm about working with Puffer Finance on Secure-Signer, a solution aimed at enhancing the security of staking workflows through the use of secure hardware. Secure-Signer utilizes Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) and has received a grant from the Ethereum Foundation.

In addition to the social media announcement, Automata Network also published a blog post on its website, emphasizing its contribution to the development of Secure-Signer. Puffer Finance is reportedly providing grant support for the project and is known for its role as a remote signing anti-slashing tool, leveraging TEEs.

Secure-Signer currently operates within a secure enclave called Intel SGX, which employs Remote Attestation Verification smart contracts to remotely verify SGX attestations on the blockchain. Intel has plans to introduce Enhanced Privacy ID censorship by the beginning of next year and will subsequently base the attestation workflows on Data Center Attestation Primitives.

To support this transition, Automata has open-sourced a verifier on Solidity, a robust programming language commonly used for developing decentralized applications. Validators, who play a crucial role in protocol coordination and consensus, are responsible for signing non-slashable messages and optimizing uptime. Failure to adhere to network rules can result in financial penalties.

To avoid downtime penalties, validators can operate multiple nodes using the same key. Automata Network assured its commitment to working closely with the Puffer Finance team to continue contributing to the development of Secure-Signer. Furthermore, Automata acknowledged that Puffer Finance has secured over 18,000 ETH tokens through the Multi-Prover AVS, making it one of the earliest projects to join the liquid restaking platform.
