Innovations, a Layer 2 solution for Ethereum (ETH), has partnered with Chainlink, the world’s most widely used blockchain oracle network, to integrate the Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) with Mode. This integration enhances the security requirements of Mode, allowing it to be used in various decentralized finance (DeFi) and real-world asset (RWA) use cases.

Chainlink CCIP has become a recognized market standard for security and interoperability. With Mode, users can perform cheap Programmable Token Transfers and enable cross-chain Arbitrary Messaging through Chainlink CCIP-integrated oracles.

This update will create network effects across multicoin chains, promoting the use of Mode’s layer 2 solutions and establishing a more inclusive and user-friendly blockchain network.

Mode’s vision is to support developers and users in building and maintaining a vibrant ecosystem of interconnected applications. The platform rewards developers who collaborate and run their applications within its ecosystem. Mode specifically targets developers familiar with Ethereum-compatible blockchains using the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), allowing them to easily switch and start developing.

James Ross, Mode Core Contributor, highlighted the strategic decision to integrate Chainlink CCIP due to its unprecedented level-five security standard. This level of security is crucial for long-term growth and the development of a comprehensive cross-chain ecosystem. The integration allows developers to focus on scaling their applications while users can benefit from more sophisticated economic strategies.

Mode has also integrated Chainlink’s CCIP as its Canonical Cross-Chain Infrastructure. CCIP leverages Chainlink’s battle-tested infrastructure, which has facilitated over $12 trillion in transaction value. This integration provides Mode with a secure foundation, supported by the Risk Management Network, an independent body that monitors and validates all cross-chain activities to prevent security breaches.

Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer of Chainlink Labs, expressed excitement about the partnership and its impact on Mode’s layer-2 capabilities and user experience. He emphasized that the integration of CCIP in Mode equips developers with powerful tools to build secure and scalable applications.
